This bill would grant equal voting rights and representation in Congress to the people of the District of Columbia. The events on January 6th made it clear that DC residents -- who pay taxes, serve in our military, and raise their families-- deserve the same rights and protections as Americans living in all 50 states.

The District has a population larger than the states of Wyoming and Vermont and pays more than $26 billion in federal taxes, more than 22 states, yet has no voting representation in Congress. The people of the District deserve fair and equal treatment in our democracy--nothing more, nothing less.

I urge the Senator to support equality for the people of the District.
