While the Mayor’s 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington Commemorative Committee will be organizing official events, the DC Statehood Coalition will work independently and with a specific focus on DC statehood. We will organize public events that are free or low-dollar. Our top priority will be a DC march for statehood that will join the larger march on the National Mall.
The DC Statehood Coalition would like to engage District citizens from every neighborhood, and we encourage YOU to organize people from your neighborhood or civic group to participate as a community partner of the DC Statehood Coalition.
Please contact keshinil (at) yahoo.com for sign-up as a participant or for more information.
* The DC Statehood Coalition was founded in 2012 by ACLU of the Nation’s Capital, DC for Democracy, Stand Up for Democracy/Free DC, Neighbors United for DC Statehood, and other organizations to work for statehood. We work closely with the Shadow Delegation as well. Feel free to visit our website: http://newcolumbiavision.org/home0.aspx.
