Help us make Flag Day a successful day for spreading the word about statehood for the District. Join with us by sharing a photo of you, your family, or your friends celebrating our STATE Flag. While it’s technically not our state flag (yet) let’s use Flag Day (June 14th) as an opportunity to say to our neighbors around the country that we want it to be our state flag because statehood is the only way for us to be equal with the rest of the country. Statehood is equality and that shouldn’t be too much to ask for. We welcome and encourage non-DC people to join in this too because you have the power to help make us the state (you know with those Senators and Representatives that you get to elect).

Here’s what we need from you:

  1. A picture of you, your family, and your friends taken at your house or a favorite spot around town with the DC Flag. It’s important to do it at your home if possible so that there’s a real personal connection to it and that it helps show our friends around the country that we’re just like them with one glaring exception.
  2. Allow us to share the photo on our blog and on our Facebook page and on Flag Day we’ll post all of the photos so you can share all of our pictures via email, Facebook, or Twitter.
  3. On June 14th, share your “Flag photo” on your Facebook page or Twitter account to send a message that not just Flag Day but every day you/we just want to be treated equally and statehood is the only way that can happen.

Please help make this a success and email us (unitedforstatehood@gmail.com) and share your flag photo with us.

Thanks to you all & keep the photos coming,

Josh Burch
