Neighbors United for DC Statehood in partnership with the DC Statehood Coalition is embarking upon a Ward by Ward, neighborhood by neighborhood organizing strategy. With the District’s 134+ neighborhoods our goal is to have small statehood groups in each neighborhood educating, organizing, and lobbying all for DC Statehood. Over the next several months we’ll be reaching out to various people and local groups around the city to build the grassroots movement to create meaningful change.
Should you want to be a lead coordinator for a ward or your neighborhood or should you want to be a liaison for the statehood movement at your place of worship, union, school, or other entity please let us know. We need all District neighborhoods to unite behind this cause.
Statehood is an issue that affects us all whether you live in Ward 3 or Ward 8, Brookland, Mt. Pleasant or Congress Heights, and whether you have lived here for your whole life or moved here last week. We are all united in our disenfranchisement and it’s time to get organized and active in our pursuit of full equality through statehood.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be updating this website with an “Statehood Organizing Tool Kit” that District citizens can use to become involved in the statehood movement. We welcome you to the movement, so come and join us: firstname.lastname@example.org!!!
