The Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association’s DC Statehood Committee will be having its October meeting this coming Saturdat at 10am (for exact location email: email@example.com). Normal meetings last about 1-2 hours and they are open to all, not just Brooklanders. We want other District citizens and neighborhoods to join this locally driven push for equality. We hope that you will join us this Saturday to ask questions, learn about our work, and to offer your own ideas for what we should be doing to push for statehood.
This Saturday we’ll spend time discussing our September outreach activities, identifying new community outreach opportunities, and other issues on our normal docket (education & outreach, congressional lobbying, etc.). The main focus will be to brainstorm ideas for what we should do after the election. Let’s start thinking of ideas of how to work with the Lame Duck Congress, new members, and other neighborhoods and then between this meeting and our November meeting (post-election) we can individually or in small groups flesh out ideas we discuss this Saturday. Our hope is that we have 4 or 5 concrete actions that we agree to work on over the coming months.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org so I know how much coffee to brew!
Looking forward to seeing you all.
