Brookland Parade, Picnic, and DC Statehood Fun!!!

Come on out to the Brookland Community Picnic this Saturday, September 29th, to celebrate 125 years of the neighborhood, to meet new neighbors, talk with old friends, and to learn about the DC Statehood Movement. The Brookland Parade starts at 10am at 12th & Franklin St. NE and will make it’s way down to the Brookland Community Picnic (hosted by the Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association, the Michigan Park Citizens Association, and the Greater Brookland Business Association) which take place on the grounds of the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center at 1100 Michigan Ave. NE. The picnic will last from 11am-1pm and all are welcome.

As part of the picnic the Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association’s DC Statehood Committee will host art activities for youngsters, a place to take photos with the DC/New Columbian Flag, and there will be an interactive game on the history of democracy in our beloved federal district.

We hope you can join us on Saturday! If you’re interested in volunteering please email us at: unitedforstatehood@gmail.com

Sincerely,

Josh Burch
