Picnic Postponed-Statehood Cause Endures

Brookland was hit with a wild thunderstorm on Friday, June 22nd in the evening which downed many power lines and lots of trees throughout the neighborhood. As such, the BNCA DC Statehood Committee decided to postpone the picnic until the fall when more citizens would have time to attend the picnic. Several BNCA members did show up to inform the neighborhood and show their pride in the District and soon to be New Columbian flag (see below). We were heartened by all of the folks who did show up despite its postponement just to say hi and show their support. We’ll keep you posted on the new date, to be in Fall 2012, and look forward to putting on an informative and transformative event.

Thanks to everyone,
